Some tips about Past Progressive

Dear Students,
Here you have some tips to help you....please read them and then print this paper.
We use the past progressive

*for an action which was happening in the past when another one interrupted it. The lengthier action is in the past progressive, and the shorter action, which interrupted it, is in the simple past. The sentence usually contains the linking words: as, while or when
"Clark was sleeping when Jim called him"

*for two or more actions which were happening at the same time in the past
"While we were preparing dinner, they were watching TV"

*to describe the setting in a narrative
"It was raining and we were driving on the wet road. Suddenly, the car behind us..."

*for actions which were happening at a specific point of time in the past
"I was  doing my homework at six o'clock yesterday"

Expand the notes into sentences. Use the past simple and the past progressive

1-when- I -open- door - nobody - be- there

3-when- she - lock - door - she - turn off  - lights  - and - go - bed
